Switchboard Upgrades

If you have an older home, there’s a good chance your switchboard does not meet the current electrical standard. Many older switchboards do not have an RCD (Residual Current Device) to cut electricity when an unbalanced load is detected. This will instantly shut down circuits in a risky situation and reduce the chance of an accident. You may also want to upgrade from an old switchboard with ceramic fuses that are mounted on asbestos.

Even if there are no active hazards, it can still make sense to replace your switchboard. You may want to add new circuits to meet the modern need for appliances in more rooms, or simply choose a different ‘look.’ We can assess your requirements and advise on a cost-effective replacement.

At Laser Electrical Auckland Central we’ll inspect your current switchboard, provide a quote, remove (and safely dispose of) the old board, and replace it with a brand new switchboard with MCBs and RCDs instead of old-fashioned fuses.
